For those wishing to know: it's a collection of all sorts of stories (from 
the papers and elsewhere) that seldom appear in history books, but 
nevertheless were greatly talked about at the time.  For example, there's 
the near punch-up after the late king's funeral, the shooting of the 
indestructable man, the young post-boy v. the police, etc.
