For those wishing to know: Godley was the official orator for Oxford 
University and an accomplished classicist.  This is a collection of short 
prose pieces and poetry - many of which are humorous - playfully exposing 
the foibles of academia.  I particularly recommend the poem "Hints for the 
Transaction of Public Business" which contains:

 	Then take with you this principle, to cheer you on your way--
 	The less there is to talk about, the more there is to say.
