For those wishing to know: early in his career Borrow had written (but not
published) a book on Welsh literature: "Celtic Bards, Chiefs and Kings".
Many years later, after publishing his translation of "The Sleeping Bard"
from the Welsh of Ellis Wyn, Borrow decided to take some of the material
from Celtic Bards and publish it together with a review of his own book.
"The Welsh and Their Literature" was the result - published anonymously.
Not only did Borrow succeed in getting part of Celtic Bards published, but
his glowing review of his own translation sold off the entire print run
very quickly. As such it's a key text in Borrovian studies.

All the best,
David,
England, very hot and heavy, thunderstorms pending
