For those wishing to know: Mackie summaries thousands of stories from one 
of the main newspapers of Norfolk, England over a fifty year period 
(1801-1850).  It gives a detailed picture of the life, manners, beliefs of 
the people of the time.  Mackie also added an index which has been very 
useful to local history studies.
