For those wishing to know: James Ewing Ritchie was editor of Christian 
World magazine and a general writer with a light and often humorous touch. 
This is a collection of short sketches written about towns in eastern 
England where Ritchie grew up and that he knew well.  Each is a bit of a 
gossip, and I think many are intended to encourage London readers to visit 
the places described.
