For those wishing to know: James Gwyther (c1814-1875) was the son of a 
clergyman of Madeley, Shropshire, whom I'm doing some research on, and 
this was a way to see which church party he belonged to etc.  The sermon 
takes the biblical prayer of Jesus for unity in the church, and relates it 
to church mission (it was preached at the London Missionary Society).
