For those wishing to know: a short comedy play for Victorians who were 
keen on acting.  There's a few funny lines, mainly from the Todd 
character, but there's plenty of cases where a character's speech is 
simply a way to tell the audience what is going on.  It's nothing to do 
with Brompton, Kensington, London, it's just Brompton was a very middle 
class neighbourhood so useful for the title line.
