I took 3 dogs skijoring on Friday. They all did good and didn't mind being in front of a person on skiis or being in lead!
BONES #1-16-1 House A.....Bones was on the euth. list because of space issues but I asked to take him out for a skijor so that bought him a few more days.
He is a striking looking dog, red with blue eyes. He is on the small side and fairly thin right now. He probably has some hound in him. He is very short coated.
I started him out with Fraulein (see below) but he really wanted to hump her so I pulled out one of my dogs (Loon) to run with him. He has a lot of testosterone and wanted to mount Loon too (she is spayed)...but once we got going he was great. He wanted to play a little bit with Loon, but she ignored him. He is a nicely gaited dog with good drive and is an all around nice dog. He is sweet with people, quiet and not hyper. He understands being on a dog truck so he has been a sled dog before.

FRAULEIN #1-15-2 House O. She is a 1.5 year old pointer mix. These girls are VERY friendly and social. They love to play with each other at the shelter but when I put them together in harness for a 2 dog skijor team they didn't get along. We went for about a mile, but they were very competitive with each other so I turned back to the truck. Fraulein has a TON of drive. She has good speed and a nice gait. She loved being up front and is very confident. She is the faster of the 2 dogs.

NORDICA #1-15-1 HOUSE N.....Both these girls wore around a medium size harness or the next smaller size. They aren't very big (40-45 pounds) but they are powerful and lots of drive.
Nordica is "boxier" than her sister.....not quite as fast and seemed to be the more dominant one.
These girls would make great pets also as they are social and friendly.

thanks to Don for being my handler today!
