[Trdma-l] Fairbanks Shelter Dog

There is one dog at the shelter that has been there for a long time. Almost
a month!! Don and I were going to run dogs this morning but again...too
hot.

I went in today and took a harness and hooked a leash to the tug line and
ran RAJA around and around the outside yard at the shelter. She is born to
do this!! She pulls like crazy and had no qualms about staying out in front
of me the whole time. She didn't care that I was running as fast as I could
through gravel, around sharp corners and even past people with children!!
She is a focused girl. I think she would probably be a good leader from
what I saw today although it is hard to tell without other dogs in the
"team."
But for any dog to do what she did today without the blink of an
eye....well, she is just a driven sled dog.
On top of it all, she is very friendly (although a bit barky), likes other
dogs and kids. She is on the small, lean side. Probably around 40 pounds.
Check out her picture below and on the next chilly morning we will try to
get her out in a team to run. I couldn't really judge her speed or her gait
with what we did today but she seems like a quick and fast little girl.

FOXY is also still there. I tried the same thing with her and she seemed
not to understand what we were doing. She thought it was more like going
for a walk. But I saw flashes of sled dog in her although I believe she may
have been a pet. She is VERY sweet. A classic looking husky with a good
coat.

You can see her and a few other dogs at:

On the happy side: Both Molly and Shaya were adopted.
