Hi Erin.
I talked with Kenneth MacAlpine this am. There are 7 dogs left, I think he
said 4 females and 3 males (or vice-versa). Three of the 7 are the loose
ones. 2 of the loose ones are mother and son, I think. These two are
husky-wolf mix. As before no one currently knows names, status etc. He has
not gotten close enough to look at teeth to try to determine age as the dogs
do not know him. He thinks some are middle aged, I presume on physique and
flexibility but I did not confirm that. His understanding is that animal
control will come dart the loose ones and if the person who wants them is on
site, they will just let that person take them. But if they come dart them
and no one is at the ready, they will take them to the pound and the cost
and process there ensues. Kenneth is the last family member tending the
dogs, and he returns to Massachusett on Saturday. So he is eager to get the
dogs that are placeable moved along. So I wondered if you would reemail
with this update to help him along. He is on a long distance cell,
413-822-2542. I have had to leave messages but he does return calls.
Thanks, Linda

Hello! I stopped by Barry's kennel today and many of the dogs have found
homes and Norman/Donna's phone continues to ring off the hook. All are
being taken well care of. As of 3 pm today (Tuesday) there were about 10-12
dogs remaining after Ted English took three. Thanks Ted and everyone else
who has lent a hand and/or adopted dogs! We have an amazing mushing
community around here!!

The shelter did have four of Barry's pups (approx. 4-5 months old) and Paul
and I have requested to adopt them. So, if anyone is interested in a pair
of pups please let me know (we will be VERY picky who they go to - sorry!).
The cost from animal control is $132/pup and this includes spay/neuter,
micro chipping, etc.

If you are interested, please let me know.
