[Trdma-l] Wolves took a sled dog in Two Rivers about 19 mile CHSR

I received the following note from Barbie Howard, who lives at about 19 mile
CHSR - She gave me permission to post it here.  I haven't seen anything
about it in the paper.

 

A pack of wolves make it to The Howard's on Chena Hot Springs Road - Snapped
Shatzi right of her chain.  They killed it about 10 feet from the house.
They then dragged it to the top of the run way and ate it.  They then bedded
down.  I woke up to 20 - 30 ravens eating something.  I thought maybe a
rabbit but as more Ravens arrived I began to wonder.  Nathan called and told
me about the dog and the bloody mess all over his yard.  Warren went and
helped him clean the yard.  Warren tracked them to the end of the property
by {names snipped}. It was so odd because the night it happened, Nathan was
here at 3 am needing meds for his sick daughter.  Never heard or saw
anything.  Warren set snares at the end of the field.  Warren also flew the
valley but it was real windy and he didn't see anything.  We are sure this
is the same pack (that killed the pet dog in North Pole earlier in the
month) as we are not far from North Pole via foot or air.
