In case you hadn't heard, Dr.Gaarder, the veterinary eye specialist in Anchorage will be closing his practice and leaving the state in December. He is the only veterinarian who can perform cataract surgery and other ocular procedures that require extensive training and specialized equipment. If you know of an animal in need of his services, don't wait! Future option will be to send animals to Seattle or beyond until another opthmologist choses to move to Alaska.
