[Trdma-l] stray dog sighted

I sighted the husky/hound dog trotting along the Farmers Loop bikepath on 
the south side of the road at 6:40 PM, shiny black dog, reddish tan legs, 
long legged, longish ears about the size of a small Irish Setter, trotting 
along going east between McGrath Road and the Steese Highway, closer to 
McGrath Road.  I stopped and tried to get him/her into the truck--no way, 
picked up speed and would not let me get too close but kept watching me.  I 
had a meeting to go to and returned at 7:50 PM and this time the dog was 
going west along the bike path and was right where the transmitter antennas 
are.  I again tried--no way, started to run into the road to avoid me.  So I 
drove down further west and parked in a driveway to see if it  I could block 
its path or if it would go into my truck or if I could lure it closer--it 
just made a wide circle around the truck into the road.  Once it passed me 
it went back on the bike path.  The woman who lives in the house where I 
parked said she's seen it for several days, it does not get close, she 
thinks it's an old dog, not sure where it belongs, maybe in back of her but 
does not know.  This is the house that does not have siding on it, has a 
cola sign in front.  Anyway, the dog looked pretty much ok, moved along at a 
good clip.  I went home and got my sled dog Sparrow and a very long leash to 
see if I could lure it with her and/or with biscuits, but I could not find 
it.  Given that it was getting dark, I called it a night.  Tomorrow I'll 
take her down along there for a long walk.  Ronnie
