Hi Swanny,
the dog that you are talking about is a different dog. i have seen that one too. this one has medium black hair with a white stripe on its chest. animal control did come out again today and saw the dog but was not able to catch it. he/she seems to be staying around the laundromat here. i put some food out and we just some him/her eating it. I'll keep putting food out in the same spot and later set a trap. hope it works

Mariska, if this the dog I think it is, I’ve seen it and tried to catch it several times over by Mia’s on Sweren Loop. Does it look like it could be a BC or Australian Shepherd X Alaskan husky cross? I suspect it lives in the Sweren Loop area and is allowed to run free while its owners are at work, because I’ve only seen it during the day time. If it was shot in that neighborhood it may be very hesitant to go home.

If it’s the same dog, it’s very shy, and you’ll probably have to live-trap it. If the borough won’t loan you a trap I think Donna at Loving Companions Animal Rescue has a large enough live trap. You may have to remind her of the trap from Martina Delp’s.

We might want to suggest the benevolent fund purchase a live trap for TRDMA member use in cases like this. I’d toss a few bucks into the pot to do that.

Swanny

There has been a dog hanging around at 22-24 mile CHSR.The dog seems to stay in this area, mostly by the laundromat. It is a husky, black with some white, looks like it is wearing a collar. Apparently it has recently been shot by someone in the neighborhood. It is dragging his/her left front leg.We have try to catch the dog but nobody can come near it.
animal control has been called but by the time they get here the dog is long gone.
Does anybody know this dog? Is anybody missing one? Any idea on how to catch the dog or what to do? Any suggestions are appreciated !

Mariska
