We also need to consider what to do with the copies of the current DVD that
have already been burned. There probably aren't that many, but it's
something worth thinking about. I know I've got a few hundred here.
As for the request system, it can be adapted to handle duplicate requests,
although I don't think that there will be a huge flood of requests from
previous requesters once the new image is announced. Rather I expect them
to trickle in as they find out, and even then it will probably only be a
small fraction. Nevertheless, it's something which definitely needs
considering.

One issue relates to the request tracking database. It automatically rejects
a second request from the same e-mail address. If we allow someone who
received the first DVD to request the second DVD, we will need to allow an
additional request record that is submitted on or after the announcement
date.
