There are specific ink-jet printers designed to print on CD or DVD media. A quick Google leads me to believe that the Epson Stylus Photo R200 is one of these printers. There are others, including some that are designed just to on media and not on paper at all. -----Original Message----- From: dvdvol-bounces@lists.pglaf.org [mailto:dvdvol-bounces@lists.pglaf.org] On Behalf Of Sam Chacko Sent: Friday, June 03, 2005 6:40 AM To: CD and DVD Volunteers Subject: Re: [dvdvol] cd labeling Friendswood, TX USA 06/03/02005 Dear fellow volunteers, I haven't marked mine at all! Though I have bought a $14.99 Memorex DVD stamper on sale last weekend for $ 4.99. And the DVD, I bought are "ink-jet" printable, so how does one do that? Do you put the DVD through an ink-ject printer? Have a blessed day! Sam Chacko (281) 648-1750 On 6/3/05, Marcello Perathoner <marcello@perathoner.de> wrote: Aaron Cannon wrote:
I know we've discussed this on gutvol-d, but I don't know if it's come up on this list. I'm wondering what everyone else is doing to label their discs? Are you just writing on each one? Have you tried CD labels? Does anyone have any experience with labeling discs and can offer some tips?
The only ideas I have had were to use a rubber stamp or a printed adhesive label, although I've heard that some of the adhesive labels can warp the discs over time. Printing on the actual discs doesn't seem to be an option either, at least not on our budget.
German computer magazine c't tested commercial labels for DVDs. The outcome is: *all* labels warp the DVDs and put them out of spec, making them less readable or unreadable. CD labels are ok, because the CD specs are more tolerant towards misshapen CDs. -- Marcello Perathoner webmaster@gutenberg.org _______________________________________________ dvdvol mailing list dvdvol@lists.pglaf.org http://lists.pglaf.org/mailman/listinfo.cgi/dvdvol
