Is the ibiblio.org ftp down?

I can't reach the official PG FTP at ibiblio.org - accessing both via the web and via FileZilla says the connection is unreachable. If it's down, perhaps someone can contact someone at ibiblio.org and let them know our server is down? Jared

Problems with rsyncing with the project gutenberg main server

Hi all. I am having some problems using rsync with the main PG rsync server. I keep getting timed out or disconnected with the following errors: rsync: read error: Connection reset by peer (104) rsync error: error in socket IO (code 10) at io.c(785) [receiver=3.1.1] rsync: connection unexpectedly closed (483943 bytes received so far) [generator] rsync error: error in rsync protocol data stream (code 12) at io.c(226) [generator=3.1.1] I've been using this rsync command right now with the advice of the ibiblio.org people who maintain the server for us: rsync -av --delete --delete-during --progress ftp.ibiblio.org::gutenberg/ /cygdrive/e/gutenberg/ I am not sure what is causing these errors. I know the commands mean the connection closed on my end for some strange reason. I did not have any issues using rsync on my old windows 7 computer (I got a new machine for my birthday last month that has UEFI firmware installed on it, making dual booting into Linux for a faster rsync experience nearly impossible). So I am stick using cygwin's rsync distribution here on windows 10. I have been talking with the ibiblio folks via their forums, but it would be a lot easier if someone who is actually with PG who knows rsync well could help me. the old hands will remember that project gutenberg was born on the fourth of july, when a grocery bag with the declaration of independence printed on it was handed to michael hart, which prompted him to enter it into a computer system and then send it to some of the other people on that system, giving him the idea that books could be distributed like this. in 1971, that took a lot of foresight. thank you, michael. now project gutenberg is approaching 50,000 items, with distributed proofreaders kicking in 30,000 of 'em. happy birthday, project gutenberg. rest in peace, michael hart... -bowerbird

Anybody know what is going on with the main FTP site at ibiblio.org? the FTP, rsync, and ibiblio.org website are down currently. also, PG's website appears to be down as well. Jared
