It is not enough to have a master-format, or for that matter to have six master formats, as long as each is led by a general with an army of one. The people on this forum seem to be heading in the direction of yet-another XML/Python formatting project of which there are 100s on the internet already, each with a group of loyal followers sized half a dozen.

the hard part, then, is getting d.p. postprocessors to _use_ that.

Agreed re PP. *Prior* to that DP has an agreed upon workflow, cause if you don't do it their way, you get the boot. If you give the PP superior tools which work from the DP formatting markup files you *might* actually get some people to try your tools. Or not.
