keith, good question about the purpose here.
this is a converter-tool that demonstrates the
ability of z.m.l. to spit out the formats people
want today -- .pdf, .html, .epub, and .mobi --
in a manner customized to their preferences...
it is not an authoring-tool (i already have one);
neither is it a viewing-tool (already have many).
editing and viewing capabilities are to ease the
pain of any last-minute edits that are required.

Then, you have a design flaw in the logical sense.
If it is purely a converter tool to produce an end product,
then there should be no last minute editing to do!
