well, there are lots of people who will _prefer_ the kindle for the precise reason that it _won't_ do things like that...
My relatives love the iPad for playing Pictionary remotely with each other. The Kindle could be a much better Kindle, and the iPad could be a much better iPad. I'd have to say that we are still very much in the early innings of ebook reader development.
