and i apologize for my lack of proper jargon,
since i don't want to mount a "mirror", per se,
but merely _some_ of the many files available.

specifically, i would copy the *.txt files and the
graphics, and only -- for now -- english books.
(although that last condition might be difficult.)

i now understand that i should be using rsync,
rather than curl or wget, and i will do just that.

if it is easy enough that someone just tells me
how to have rsync get that subset, many thanks.
otherwise i will go and read the fucking manual.
