
Excuse Me, but are UPPER CASE letters actually formatting that need be marked up. Then, again. we could also chose an appropriate unicode font and use glyph encoding in the master format. Precisely, which is why it's important to have a markup language complete enought to deal with uppercase and italics. That's also why it's important to have an eXtensible Markup Language. It's easy to say now that the distinction between uppercase and italics are important, but apparently somebody missed it. I don't know what the next unanticipated text construct will be, but it would be nice to be able to deal with it when we encounter it.
