or, to put it another way:

.zml == .html == .epub == .mobi == .nextbigthing

for any chunk of text in the book, you can trace it
through all the conversions, from master to slaves.

and yes, i could back-translate from slave to master,
because i can put the necessary info in each format.

in which case it's just specifying a reg-ex to change
markup from one system to the markup of the other.

but of course, since one is using the .zml as "master",
one always has the .zml hanging around, so one really
doesn't have any need to ever do the back-translations.

so yap all you want, noisy yap dogs.  yap yourselves happy.
