Virus-free? Aren't you distributing it in source form? If you're not distributing source, running a non-descript binary, whether it is assured to be virus-free or not is a really stupid thing to do. I wouldn't trust the code without being able to audit/edit the source anyway.
because if you get it from somewhere else, someone _might_ have tampered with it...
Which is why a multitude of virus scanners exist, for those platforms that happen to be succeptable to these kinds of things.
