If you wanted material in plaintext format which wasn't in the plaintext edition provided already, yes.
If it came to that, I would rather have the plain text and forget the page numbers.
If you want the mainstream plain text edition, then you download the mainstream plain text edition. If you want to create your own edition with extra material, then at the moment you're completely out of luck, as there's no way for you to generate it.
