Note that the PG/submitter sausage-making chain typically runs:

 

Txt->html->epub->mobi

Well, here is one place where improvement can be made.

Txt-> html->epub

                           ->mobi

This would allow for better tweaking. I one is worried about doing

parts of the conversion twice one can always put that in intermediate

files and go on from there. It is all a mater of modularity and careful design.
