[gutvol-d] the importance of the scientific method

in the past, i have suggested that rfrank would do well to incorporate more scientific method into his experiments. but alas... here's a quote from him in one of his forum threads:

I've always hoped that some of what we seem to conclude will be compelling enough that the people at DP or DPC or any of the others might bake it into their future releases.

there are a lot of "compelling" stories that one can dream up that have very little basis in reality... the scientific method is how we filter out those "compelling" stories from _the_truth_, and data is the currency of the realm in scientific experiments. -bowerbird
