
Other times he says things that are just plain factually wrong, in which case I think a correction is in order, not to persuade him that he is wrong, but just to keep other people from thinking that a certain state is the case when it is not.
But when I call out something that BB says which is simply factually wrong, for example if he says XYZ is the only way to do the job, and I in fact use ABC instead to do the job, then he begins a long tirade about how "stupid" I am -- which only results in people putting "kill files" on both our names, in which case I can no longer engage in "meaningful" conversation either. This is what is called a "shoutdown" -- making sure that people who disagree with you are not even allowed to engage in the discussion.
