IANAL, but with common sense I would say that: 1) a collection of recipes gets a copyright. 2) the exact wording of a recipe can get a copyright; but the recipe itself (as a description of a procedure) does not have a copyright. 3) the recipe itself (i.e. the final product) can be patented or trademarked.
