The average Wikipedia entry is too complex for people who just want to know which format to download.
Well, whoever writes the short descriptions can link to Wikipedia articles describing the media types in more detail, and for those where there's no Wikipedia description, to write them.
But I agree with Marcello the first step is to write the short descriptions.

I sent a second attempt at "short descriptions", but as far as I can tell, no one has commented on it. I'm assuming that silence means it's unacceptable, so unless someone has specific feedback on how I can improve it, I'll drop the subject.
