No, each section of italicized words is marked. EXAMPLE: This is a sentence with _an italicized phrase_. This is a sentence with *a bolded phrase*. **** The obvious problem with this encoding is that it can be very difficult to determine that every opening _ is closed by the appropriate _. That is one of the reasons DP uses <i></i> and <b></b> in the proofing interface instead. Josh
