[gutvol-d] Clarification please

I'd like a simple explanation please of the way items are contributed to the Project. In other words does the project accept transcripts of text from a book / work? Or are the requirements that the text be broken down by page number, notated, with footnotes if any, at the bottom of the page? If it is the former I can contribute immediately.
