Although personally I have become very discouraged re the “format wars” between EPUB, MOBI, and MOBI8 formats, where in practice what I see is the quality of ebook formatting – both free and paid books – going DOWN in end user reading quality, not up.

All I can conclude is that a bunch of organizations feel it is in their best interests, for whatever reason or reasoning, to publish crap.
