ok, great, let's go that way...

now...

one big reason for this exercise, for me, has been
developing online versions of some of these tools.

that's good because:

1.  online versions have appeal, especially for some people.

2.  some people really believe this job can't be done online.

3.  online versions are a complement to my offline versions.

4.  i can withdraw an online version of an app if/when i want.

that fourth point is important to me, because --as you have
undoubtedly surmised -- there are some people here who've
made me an enemy, and i see no need to give them my tools,
at least not in the ongoing way which an offline app provides.

so i can throw up an online app that proves my point clearly,
and then jerk it down so my enemies can't actually _use_ it...

having said all of that, though, there are some times when
it's just a whole lot better to use an offline version of a tool.

this is one of those times.

(since otherwise we're just chewing bandwidth downloading
scans to your machine that you _already_have_ sitting there.
it's far easier -- and much faster -- to use the local copies.)

so let's go backchannel now, james, and do this task offline.
