if someone thinks i have "zero credibility", why would they continue reading my posts? i dunno. beats me. it's a mystery. once i concluded that people like marcello and david starner, lee passey, josh the hutch, and -- the one we love to hate -- jon noring had "zero credibility", because they had _bet_ it all against me in our little poker game, and they _lost_, i put them in my spam folder and let them rot there. i read 'em if they're quoted in an e-mail that comes from people i still read, but it's _amazing_ just how seldom that happens. or maybe it's not, since they had so rarely (if ever) uttered anything that actually needed to be heard. even the many rocks that they tried to throw at me fell harmlessly at my feet, and merely amused me, especially when i picked up each one of their rocks and threw it back, plunking them on their heads... so really, folks, don't bother trying to squabble. if you don't like what i say, just kill-file me and we will both be much happier people in the end. have i made myself clear? -bowerbird p.s. meanwhile, one more guy in my spam folder...

You're dodging the real questions repeatedly put to you, Bowerbird. So, please answer: 1) Why, as the only contributor to this mailing list, do you insist on submitting your posts in heavy, convoluted, superfluous, non-standard HTML mark-up? You, the proponent of the lightest possible mark-up of e-texts ?!?! Why do you ignore the decades old standard for online discussions -- plain-text? 2) Why do you (apparently) use inferior AOL email software that destroys the proper threading of discussions in this mailing list? Look at your shiny new iPhone & iPad and see the mess created by your posts (and your posts only) in this mailing list, due to your posts' inability to thread properly. Why would a software programmer of all people hold on to inferior email software? And AOL software of all -- the butt of most Internet jokes about clueless newbies? What does that suggest about a person's expertise in other software areas, such as e-text conversion? 3) Why would you give preference, in testing your e-book converter, to the format *least* suited for e-books (PDF), which is on its irreversible decline and way out, thanks to devices such as the Kindles, iPad, iPhone, all of which favour free-flowing text that disregards all outdated, purely fictitious paper-page dimensions? PS: If you look at my next-to-last post, Bowerbird, you'll see I also praised you for your obstinacy. And I said -- in the post's Subject line! -- that you have zero credibility as of *right now*, due to the 3 issues just summarised for you once again above. Once you resolve the 3 issues summarised above, your credibility will shoot sky-high! :-) -- Yours, Alex. www.aboq.org [processed by "The Bat!", Version 4.2.10.12]
