Don't be fooled Joey (although I somehow doubt that is likely). Bowerbird has taken plenty of things personally. The most striking example of this follows: On April 15, 2005, Anne, a long-time PG volunteer wrote in response to one of Bowerbirds tirades: "Yes. It means you almost certainly have Asperger's Disorder. Get in touch with a psychiatrist specializing in forms of autism and arrange to be evaluated for it. Unfortunately there's no cure for it, which is why I seem to wind up in so many flame wars that I never MEANT to get into, but once you know you have it you can occasionally remember to ask yourself, "Do I really want to say this, or does Asperger's want to say this?" Of course you MIGHT have paranoia with or without schizophrenia, or schizophrenia with or without paranoia, or you MIGHT have bipolar depression, but it's really hard to believe that you could succeed in being this obnoxious without SOME kind of mental illness. It definitely looks to me like autism or a related personality disorder, though. By the way, I OWN an e-publishing house. That one I have now posted for sale, but I already owned the copyright. Ebooks are like videos: you can buy them, or rent them, or check them out from a library for free. You're seeing a war where there isn't one. Television didn't kill radio. Videos and, now, DVDs didn't kill television. E-book stores aren't going to kill Gutenberg. Your thinking is much too narrow; that's another reason I'm suspecting autism of some sort. That is all I have to say on this topic. I just came on to check emails. However, the very next time he replied to Anne he wrote: "oh please, anne. wake up. of course our posts have a reply-to header. what they do not have is an in-reply-to header. pay attention, dear. you could start by noticing the subject-header of this thread..." As you can see, the horrible mistake Anne made was failing to notice one word. For that, she got a violent tongue lashing, Bowerbird style. Now, perhaps it was just a coincidence, or perhaps Anne struck a nerve with her first message. Still, if the former is the case, it seems like Bowerbirds reply was a little excessive, even for him. Perhaps nothing hurts quite so much as the truth.
