OK, I'm starting to get the hang of this. You can see the results here: http://epubmaker.pglaf.org/cache/20120326064027/ However, I *really* want my paragraphs to be non-indented and to have a bit of space under each one, and the same thing for block quoted text. The RST manual seems to have this, but when I look at the RST source of same I see no hint of how it is doing it. The other question I have is, how do I know what my book number will be? I have an approval to work on it from PG, but that does not include a book number. Thanks for your patience. I like RST and think it will greatly help my productivity once I have mastered it. Thanks for all your reports on this, James. For book number: we assign this when it is posted. The only time we assign in advance is when there are dependencies (such as, two volumes that need to reference each other). You don't need to do any of the header/footer/metadata, since that is all added at posting time. -- Greg On Mon, Mar 26, 2012 at 08:58:09AM -0500, James Simmons wrote:

Greg, it was decided early in DP's discussions of RST that the submitter would be responsible for the metadata block, since they were already familiar with the book's basic information--title, author, language, publication date, etc. The WWers edit the PG:Id field and the PG:Release field, making only any necessary corrections to the other fields. An ebook number is assigned only when the submission is WWed. It's added to the PG RST metadata header, along with the PG Release date. There's more information on PG's metadata in Marcello's RST manual. When I'm testing one of my RST files, I use 99999 as the PG:Id number, then change it to the actual number when I post the book. Some submitters also use 99999 when submitting an RST file; others use "nnnnn". Whatever the case, it's changed by the WWer at posting.
