Study: 12 Percent of US Households Own e-Reader

http://tinyurl.com/62eeyyr "A study finds that 12 percent of U.S. households now own a reading device for electronic books, such as Amazon's Kindle. That's three times the number of households that owned an e-reader just a year ago, pointing to rapid acceptance." However, the highest rate of eBook distribution I've heard about has only been 2.63 times as many eBooks, not to mention that the number of eBooks given away by Project Gutenberg is only up some 20% at most over last years, as far as I can tell.

That about matches the rise in e-book-readers sales.

Ah, statistics again! The difference between ebook devices and distribution is less than 20%. Without other correlated data they are just a curiosity. I think any company would be happy with a increase of 20% sales on their goods. I think PG is just fine in that sense, if they where actually selling anything ;-)) Do not forget that PG books are also distributed by others! As for me, I am waiting for the iPad 3 or 4. Till then it is just my computer. Furthermore, the books I am interested in are not out their in pure e-book formats without getting the printed copy. YES, nobody ask me! regards Keith.

Here's a pointer to the location of the actual report, in your choice of non-ebook formats: http://www.pewinternet.org/Reports/2011/E-readers-and-tablets.aspx Interesting is the 3% of people who own both a tablet and an e-reader.
