nobody has thoughts on a tool to help mark italics? why does this not surprise me? at any rate, the reasoning will be explained later, but for now, go try "the italics game" -- if you feel like it. when you find an italics word on the scan, click it, so it's surrounded by a bounding-box, either blue or red. (the bounding-box toggles on and off if you re-click.) when you're done with a page, click "grade me now", and you'll get a report on how well you performed...

this game is not timed, so take as long as you need on each page, but remember that this book has 366 pages, so 1 minute per page means this job will take _7_hours_. even 1/2 minute on each page still means 3.5 hours... to get it down to 2 hours, each page has just 20 seconds. (19 seconds if you want a 5-minute-break after an hour.) -bowerbird
