OverDrive adds 15K PG titles for mobile users

Don't understand why one would need to use the Overdrive Media Console for something that is already free, unrestricted, has unlimited checkouts, and which you don't even need a library card for? http://overdrive.bpl.org/0ED2FD52-3C54-4244-B145-482A7FB76691/10/327/en/Publ icDomainCollection.htm -- not to imply I'm not all for using OMC for managing the limited-time checkout of new in-copyright books from public libraries using your library card! OMC does seem to implement the "full" EPUB experience from PG, not a dumbed-down reconstituted version like some websites provide. Like always, it appears to lag releases compared to the PG website itself.

I just went over this question concerning The Hawaii State Library, to whom we personally gave most of our eBooks many years ago, but I note that it was a full page front page [local section] news story, just two-three weeks ago when they went to OverDrive. . .go figure.
