Didn't realize you were such a fan of Kindles BB. One might continue to hope that one of these "cheap knock-offs" offers: ePub. Adobe DRM (not that I like DRM but at least one can buy Adobe DRM books from a variety of vendors). Ability to "check out" ePubs from your local library. The option to directly download ePub files from a website. Compared to Kindle: No ePub, rather MOBI. Amazon DRM which means one can only buy books from Amazon No ability to "check out" ePubs from your local library. The option to directly download MOBI files from a website. Even if "all" one of these knock-offs did was to offer a Kindle-like feature set -- but on ePubs instead of MOBIs -- this would be step forward.
