I would add to your list, George John ROMANES (1848 - 1894) - born in Kingston, ON and moved to England. He wan an eminent Evolutionist (assistant to Charles Darwin). Although I wouldn't suggest any of his works for #1, I do have clearances on most of his major publications. I just wanted to add him to the list.
