The Comical Adventures of Twm Shon Catty, by T. J. Llewelyn Prichard 40421 [Subtitle: Commonly known as the Welsh Robin Hood] [Link: http://www.gutenberg.org/4/0/4/2/40421 ] [Files: 40421-0.txt; 40421-h.htm] For those wishing to know: this is a later edition, which a great number of changes, from the one I've just posted as eText 40421. This adds an Appendix on the Welsh Triads, supposedly translated by Twm Shon Catti [the name occurs with variant spellings]. There's a whole set of textual problems with this later edition: although it claims to be by the author of the original 1828 book the author thinks his book was first published in 1836. It's riddled with mis-prints and by lacking a full title page looks suspicously like a pirated edition. Nevertheless it introduces some new incidents not in the original, and tones down most of the rough plot edges of the original too. All the best, David, England, still sunny, clouds fewer having discharged more than enough rain

The Adventures and Vagaries of Twm Shon Catti,by T. J. Llewelyn Prichard 40419 [Subtitle: descriptive of Life in Wales: Interspersed with Poems] [Link: http://www.gutenberg.org/4/0/4/1/40419 ] [Files: 40419-0.txt; 40419-h.htm] For those wishing to know: This is a _very_ Welsh which is probably more or less unknown outside Welsh culture. Twm Shon Catti is a part mythical part real person from Welsh history, who had a very adventurous life and often used his nature wit to get them better of his adverseries. The first half of the book uses Twm's early life to introduce Welsh customs to the reader, and then moves to biography proper. Little is known of the author, who is believed to have been an actor, who died in poverty in Swansea. All the best, David England, sunny but with blue-gray clouds billowing in the skies
