Wages in 1873, by Thomas Brassey 64469 [Subtitle: Address read before the Social Science Association at Norwich] [Link: http://www.gutenberg.org/6/4/4/6/64469 ] [Files: 64469-0.txt; 64469-h.htm] For those wishing to know: turned out that this is Thomas Brassey, M.P., who was the son of the famous engineer Thomas Brassey. It's more economics than social science but it was frightening to know that in 1873 10 year old kids works as 12 hour days, six days a week (in Belgium etc.) for very poor wages. He mainly focuses on England and America, trades unions etc. All the best, David Foggy England
