Bohemian Days in Fleet Street, by William Mackay 51585 [Link: http://www.gutenberg.org/5/1/5/8/51585 ] [Files: 51585-0.txt; 51585-h.htm] For those interested: it's mainly very unstructured (and undated) anecdotes of Mackay's time in Fleet Street, as journalist, editor etc. and the many people who knew. He says the period covers 1870-90 but there are a few things in the book which don't quite fit that. Also, Mackay was acknowledged as a master of writing fiction that passed for fact, so perhaps not all the book is true? Otherwise very readable and entertaining. All the best, David, Very windy England
