John Sinclair was Vicar of Kensington and Archdeacon of Middlesex and, as can be seen from this pamphlet, not a believer in the Infallibility of the Pope. Sinclair had been accused of Roman Catholic tendencies (see Is the Vicar of Brompton a Tractarian in Gutenberg) and here he argues from logic rather than any particular sense of religious belief.
