A Funeral Sermon preach'd on the decease of ... 61910 [Title: A Funeral Sermon preach'd on the decease of the Right Honourable the Lady Elizabeth Cutts] [Author: William Wigan] [Subtitle: Late wife of the Right Honourable the Lord Cutts, on the 5th of December, 1697, at Kensington Church] [Link: http://www.gutenberg.org/6/1/9/1/61910 ] [Files: 61910-0.txt; 61910-h.htm] For those wishing to know: I spend a lot of time researching in Kensington archives, London, and they kindly had a dig to see what old pamphlets etc. they had, this being one. It is rather tragic in that Elizabeth Cutts, who was in here 20's I think, had recently married Lord Cutts, but died shortly after giving birth, and her child didn't survive more than a week or so. As an important figure Lord Cutts would expect a suitable sermon and no doubt the vicar, William Wigan, decided that publishing it would be useful to his career etc. For all that, it tells very little of what happened. All the best, David Very sunny England
