For the recently-posted book below, the header of the plain text file has this:
Character set encoding: ISO-8859-1

Whatever encoding it uses, it is definately not latin-1.

With the auto-generated files that Marcello has been working with
recently, this kind of thing can really make a difference. The stated
encoding in the file header is what is used for making those
auto-generated files. If it is not accurate, the results can be
nonsense.
