Conway Walter was the local antiquarian for the town of Horncastle, Linconshire, England, and wrote a number of books on the subject. This one, from 1904, takes the areas around the town and deligently gives it's history, antiquarian notes (such as details of the church, local families etc.), with a few anectodal stories thrown in for good measure.
