The Pedestrian's Guide through North Wales, by George John Bennett 64203 [Ill.: Alfred Clint] [Link: http://www.gutenberg.org/6/4/2/0/64203 ] [Files: 64203-0.txt; 64203-h.htm] For those wishing to know: Bennett wrote this book about a walking tour of Wales he undertook in 1837. Unlike guide books for Wales upto this point, this took a far more chatty and down to earth approach and so reveals quite a bit about Wales at the time. Fourteen years later he changed the book in many ways, producing the Tourist's Guide through North Wales - by 1853 the railways had started to develop, there were better coaching routes etc., so people weren't so keen on walking... All the best, David, Overcast but dry England
